|Known as the Johnson Hagood Stadium Area at its inception, downtown Charleston's West Side neighborhood is situated west of King Street and above the Septima Clark Parkway (otherwise known as the Crosstown). Congress Street serves as the area's northern boundary. Recognized as one of Charleston's transitional areas, the West Side has seen plenty of renovations and redevelopment in the last few decades.
